Skips, Santa and everything in between
For a relaxing week off work, last week was surprisingly busy. Well not that surprisingly, it was me after all who made all of the plans. After a chilled weekend, I launched straight into Monday with a trip to visit Santa at Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland. It was little Miss’ first visit to Santa and she wasn’t quite sure what to make of him. It was lovely there though, although a shame about the awful weather. It rained incessantly.

Having seen Santa we did some shopping at the outlet where, amongst other things, I got a fabulous bag from Cath Kidston and some new pink ribbon laces for my old Dr Martens.
Tuesday was spent crafting Pom poms with little Miss with the hope that I can actually make enough for a Pom Pom wreath… I have 3 so far so I’m not holding out too much hope. Little Miss enjoyed making Pom poms though, and enjoys just walking around the house with a random Pom Pom.

Tuesday night I met some friends out for a long overdue catch up over a curry. I do regularly catch up with my friends over lunch, but there’s nothing quite like a proper catch up, especially when curry is involved. I decided to wear my yellow jumpsuit. I don’t get enough wear out of it. I think, it’s fab, but it’s one of those items I’m always waiting for the right occasion for. It was probably a bit ‘wild’ for a Tuesday night but what’s the point of it sitting in my wardrobe unloved?

Thursday was even more crafting. We, (me and Little Miss) made some salt dough decorations. They need painting but what tremendous fun it was. I haven’t done that since I was a child and, I know that Little Miss is very young to be starting crafts with, but I would love her to have my passions for crafts and creativity, so, even though I had to stop her from eating the salt dough, several times, I still think it was a good way to spend a morning.

Friday was spent perusing the charity shops, where I bagged a couple of new sewing patterns. I’m accumulating quite the collection of children’s patterns now, it’s about time I started making some!

I also got 2 fabulous new mirrors to go with my collection of Deco style art mirrors.
By Saturday, I had been rained on so many times that I was adamant I would stay home. When Saturday rolled around, however, the sun came out, so we popped along to Scarborough sparkle, which is a kind of Christmas village at the Scarborough Open Air theatre. It was a great atmosphere and enjoying hot chocolate in the tipi was particularly special.
Saturday night I was off to meet Caroline and a group of other lovely ladies at Alpamare spa. A spa evening to celebrate Caroline’s birthday. Oh wow, it was blissful, but I will tell you all about that in another blog post. Needless to say, having been sauna’d and steamed (not steaming) all night, I slept especially well!

I finished the week off visiting an Etsy craft market in Scarborough before going for Sunday dinner with little Miss’ Godparents. After all of that… I think I need another holiday.
